Axiom Structures was called on Christmas for a vehicle impact to a Church’s Chicken along Northwest 79th Street and 21st Avenue in Miami. It was reported that a pickup truck had slammed into the east side of the Miami-Dade fast food restaurant and that the impact had damaged the building. Miami-Dade County Code Compliance was also on the scene to check the structural integrity of the building. After inspecting the damage, the county deemed the building unsafe.
Within days, our engineers were investigating the damage and providing a structural evaluation report to the Church’s Chicken franchise so they could initiate repairs and clean-up in a safe manner. Incredibly, just a month after the engineering repairs were specified, another vehicle impacted the vehicle along the south wall, and Axiom Structures was again called to assess and provide structural repair recommendations.
